Editorial and clinical review policy
How the content on this website is written, checked and kept honest.
What our content is for
Articles and pages on this website are educational. They explain conditions, approaches and practical questions in plain language so prospective clients can make informed choices. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for an individual clinical assessment.
How content is produced
- Topics are chosen from questions clients actually ask, not from keyword lists.
- Clinical information is drawn from reputable sources, such as professional colleges and associations, established clinical references and peer-reviewed research, and those sources are credited in the article where they are used.
- Content is reviewed for clinical accuracy and plain language before it is published. Clinical claims we cannot support are removed, not softened.
- We do not publish client testimonials, and we do not promise treatment outcomes. Ontario's professional standards for psychotherapists restrict testimonials in advertising, and results vary from person to person in any case.
- Articles show their publication date. When guidance or our own information changes, articles are updated and the change is reflected in the page.
Who is accountable
Content is published by Balancy Counselling & Psychotherapy, the group practice, and the practice is accountable for it. Therapist profiles list only verified information: designations, qualifications, experience, fees and languages as provided by each therapist.
